These two distinct collections are based on the concept of surveillance and privacy. I focused on encryption as a means of hiding and privacy for the first collection. Florals are camouflaged in the cosmic microwave background, which can be used to generate encryption keys. The resulting patterns are psychedelic, layered, and fantastical. The second collection is based off the idea of surveillance in unexpected places. I'm interested in the idea of privacy and aloneness, and whether we can say we are alone and unwatched in any given place at any given time. If you were walking through a forest alone and spotted a camera in the trees, what would you feel? Violated, curious, or both?
